We are encouraging all Lisini staff, families and anyone who wants to take part, to join us on a fundraising walk, starting at Dalziel Park Hotel in Motherwell, travelling to the Parkville in Blantyre, then onto Angels and The Castle Rooms in Uddingston.
We’ll be starting at 10am, taking as scenic a route as possible. The distance from Dalziel Park Hotel to The Parkville is approximately 8 miles, 3-3 and a half hours.
Pit stop at the Parkville to recharge and pick up anyone who would like to join the second leg to Angels, over a two-mile walk taking an hour give or take, over David Livingstone Bridge where there will be an opportunity to commemorate Liam with a floral tribute as we cross.
Another pit stop at Angels to pick up anyone who would like to join us for the short walk to the Castle Rooms where we will hold a celebration for all our participants to remember Liam, who worked in the Castle Rooms and was loved and respected by all.
It’s £10 to take part, which includes t-shirt, medal, drinks and snacks. Please fill in the form on the link below, stating where you will be joining us; Dalziel Park, The Parkville or Angels and the size of t-shirt you would like.
Chris’s House stands for ‘Centre of Help, Response and Intervention Surrounding Suicide’ and has been set up to offer a safe environment where people in, or approaching, suicidal crisis can have a safe place to go and get professional support. This will help them to begin to recover from their current mental ill health.
They do incredible work, but as with all volunteer charities they require funding to provide an essential service.
An amazing couple, Kay and Archie Kane, who have worked for Lisini for many years, their son Liam fought a long-running battle with mental health issues, and the help he received from Chris’s House in 2019 set him back on the path to recovery. Tragically, he lost his battle at the end of last year. Liam was helped immensely through personal struggles by Chris’s House and Kay and Archie will be forever grateful for the help Liam and they received.
Kay, Archie and everyone at Lisini are determined that we will provide as much support as possible with events and fund-raisers throughout the year.
